As we so love Formentera and we can call ourselves true gastronomic freaks (who isn’t?) we must inform you about the gems the island hides! A Michelin star restaurant Can Dani is one of them. We’ve been lucky and managed to catch ten minutes of the very busy Can Dani owner’s time Daniel Sargantana. Here we bring you an exclusive interview about his thoughts on the island and the success of Can Dani restaurant. Pay attention!

1. What’s so special about Formentera?

I really think it is one of the last paradises in the world. Untouched nature, amazing beaches, quiet environment and small authentic towns. It is a place you should visit at least once in your life.

2. Why have you decided to work in Formentera?

I came here with my parents when I was little. It wasn’t my choice, but I’m the luckiest that they’ve decided for me.  I absolutely adore it here and I’m not changing for sure.

3. Why is Can Dani a must-try?

Because it’s the best!  There are many restaurants in Formentera, but Can Dani is the only one of this level. We create traditional dishes from locally sourced products but we’re not afraid to take risks and give them an interesting modern twist and that’s what makes us one step ahead.

4. What is your favorite dish?

I love, that we change menu quite often according to the seasonal ingredients and new fresh ideas. Of course everything is delicious, but I would definitely recommend a degustation menu, so you can try more of our delicate fish and sea food.

5. Where does the restaurant get the inspiration?

From our amazing top chef Ana Ximenes! She invents new flavors and creation constantly. We’ve put all the trust in her and the result speaks for itself!
